How to order a Custom Costume for the
LINCOLN-DOUGLAS DEBATE
Sesquentennial Celebration:
It's as easy as:
Calling for a consultation in your home. Simply call 815-275-9813. We will go over patterns available, select fabrics and trims, and take measurements. We require 50% down, the balance due at the 1st fitting. (first fitting free).

For a price quote on a costume:
Send a complete description and if you can a photo of a costume similar to the one wanted.
Send: Color, type of fabric wanted, Measurements (waist, bust, waist to floor). This is very important in finding the right items in making a redesigned dress and in a new dress the fabric cost.
The character or the event you will be using the costume for: If we know the answers to these questions, we can better design and suggest items you may need to complete your costume.
If you want a New Costume: we will purchase a new pattern from one the leading pattern manufactures (simplicity, McCall's, etc.) Because of copyright laws, this pattern will be kept on file with your name on it. Time line is 3-6 weeks from start of construction, 6-8 weeks during the end of year holidays.
If you want a Redesigned Costume: This is where we use some of your vintage gowns and wedding dresses or ours and re-design them in to a beautiful ball gown for you. Time line is 3-4 weeks from start of construction, 4-6 weeks during the end of year holidays.
If you want an Authentic Reproduction: you will be asked to purchased the pattern and send it to us, with all other information, (size color, fabric, etc.). After we have studied the pattern you will be given an asking price. Reproductions start at $200.00.- 500.00. Time line is 4-6 weeks from start of construction, 6-8 weeks during the end of year holidays.
If you are not sure what type of costume you want or need: Send all information, and we will make some suggestions.
We will need an idea of your budget: Our custom orders range from $99.00 (basic plain dress costume) to $350.00 average reproduction. The better fabric, the more lace, ruffles; train, bustle and pleats, etc., of course makes a difference in price. We will always do the best we can to keep it with in your budget, if you are realistic. No custom discounts will be given on multiple costumes unless you are ordering 5 ore more of the same costume.
On custom orders we ask for one half of the payment up front, (this is
Non- refundable). You must OK a photo of the finished Item and pay the balance before it is sent out, (in Freeport it will be at the time of the fitting).
