This cap / head cover made of semi-sheer cotton was worn inside the home (un-dress) and out side the home frequently over other caps.
It is made of sheer cotton. as seen in portraits.
The back has a small drawstring, that pulls up the back of the Coiffe into a nice shape. This Coiffe can be untied and easily laundered.
